Board of Trustees

BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The Trustees consist of five persons, elected one or two per year, each to serve a term of three years. Each year the Trustees will elect a chairperson, who shall also be a participating Church member, and a recording secretary. They shall have the care, custody and general oversight of the upkeep and repairs of the Church buildings, the parsonage, and all other property and equipment owned by the Church, except for the church’s invest funds, which funds shall be under the care, custody and general oversight for the Finance/Investment Board. The Board shall have no power to buy, sell lease, mortgage, or transfer any Church property without specific vote of the Church authorizing such action.

Each year the Board will appoint one trustee to be the parsonage liaison, responsible to oversee parsonage maintenance and improvement; one trustee to serve on the Finance/Investment Board; and one trustee to serve on the Nominating Committee.

Three members of the Board of Trustees, two of whom shall be participating Church members, constitute a quorum. The Trustees are responsible for hiring and supervising the sexton.

The Board shall authorize proper and adequate insurance coverage against losses by fire, theft and liability. The Trustees shall have legal authority and custody of the papers, deeds, writings and documents relating to the Church as a legal corporation. The Board shall submit a written report to the annual meeting and at such other times as the Church may request.
