Message: A Hidden Gift
There are times the house of your life starts to show wear and tear upon its foundation. As Rev. Tom shared in his reflection, there is a time to search ourselves and our lives to consider whether refurbishing, renovating, or razing is needed.
If we are fortunate, we can engage in that fearless moral inventory in a manner and time of our choosing. There are other times when our plan for that inventory and perhaps refurbishment is taken from our hands, turning into a need for renovation. That renovation may give us some reassurance until an earthquake, emotional or physical, shakes the very foundation of our house.
Undesired, often unexpected, frightening, always devastating.
Therein lies the hidden gift of the moment; truth, trust, learning to lean on love and faith to be our companions on the unknown journey. To learn to build on our strong foundation.
