Share Your Burden
Updated: Nov 6
Scripture: "Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest.
Walk with me and work with me - watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.
Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."
Matthew 11: 28-30

Message: Share Your Burdens These light-filled days (yes, even in the rain!) allow us to walk a little lighter, breathe a little deeper, think a little more deeply, yet with peace.
I love this passage of scripture, as it invokes images for me of green pastoral land, and a slow walk under the beautiful heavens. This is always a reminder to reset, to share our burdens with the gentle and humble Jesus. What a contrast to the severity with which the scribes and Pharisees attempted to rule.
Jesus encourages us not only to rest, but to learn from his experience. His strength can help to lighten our load and allow us to experience some rest for the soul, as well as our body and mind. Note he says "walk with me and work with me"... we still own our responsibilities, but with a lightness of spirit!
May you allow yourself to learn, rest and grow in Jesus.
"There is no greatness where there is not simplicity, goodness, and truth.
Leo Tolstoy, 1828
“Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.”
Antoine de Saint-Exupery, 1900
