Scripture: "The seed cast in the gravel - this is the person who hears and instantly responds with enthusiasm. But there is no soil of character, and so when the emotions wear off and some difficulty arrives, there is nothing to show for it. The seed cast in the weeds is the person who hears the kingdom news, but weeds of worry and illusions about getting more and wanting everything under the sun strangle what was heard, and nothing comes of it. The seed cast on good earth is the person who hears and takes in the News, and then produces a harvest beyond his wildest dreams."

Message: Roots of Love
This scripture brings to mind Aesop's Fables with the Tortoise and the Hare. We can rush and race off with enthusiasm, but we run out of steam. We can become overconfident and try to keep pace with others amidst the onslaught of ever growing noise and distraction. But slow and steady "wins" the race... listening and contemplation bears much fruit.
A prayer for us ~
Feed and nourish our roots with your Divine Love and Grace, that we may grow stronger through every season of life. May we feel the joys and the sun's warmth, and learn to sustain and endure the winds and storms we experience.
Amen
"All things must come to the soul from its roots, from where it is planted."
St. Teresa of Avila
